Well I am getting really excited/nervous. =) My first meet (its at our gym, with like 2 or 3 other gyms invited) is June 31st. I am excited but I want to have like one or two months to clean up my routines...lol... I have 18 days left. I am going to get a training video up soon. I just have to get all the video's togather lol :P
Vault is one of my stronger events in level 8, I am actually competing a level 9 vault. I am alternating between a pike and a layout chanko. Right now I am flipping them into the pit with a hard mat in the pit to land on. Our gym decided that we are actually going to flip into the pit for the meet b/c the other gyms don't have the vaults ready yet either. I believe next week are flipping onto hard ground. I am excited!
Bars is steadily improving but it is my second worst event. I am having a really hard time with my straddle cast handstand on high bar. I have a really good one on low bar but I can't do it good on high bar. My giants are getting a lot better but I still am bending one leg slightly when I am coming up.
Beam is my WORST event.... I still don't like doing my bhs bhs. Ever since I fractured my wrist doing one, I haven't liked doing them. So what I am doing right now, I warm up bhs stretch jump, and I just go for it in my routine. Thatway I don't have to do very many of them. Other than that I am okay though. My switch leap neads to be landed more consitently and jumps could be higher etc... But I have a while to work on that.
Floor is my best even. My passes are fairly simple and I am a pretty good dancer so I feel very confident. I am doing a full, punch front to round off bhs lay, and front handspring pike or layout if it is feeling good that day.
